Samples of my CD, The Fluorescent Shaded Teddy Bear Murders are available HERE. Samples of the OOOG! EP are available from the main page.

But this page? DEMOS, composed by yours truly with an army of synths & sample libraries. Maybe I'll record these in a pro studio for a future project, but it's all scratch pad here, recorded in my home studio (uh, my second bedroom), so give the guitarist a break on the flaws, will ya? All of my super-polished, pro-recorded hits are on iTunes.

What the Hell Is Wrong?: Lots of rock guitar mixed up with cool computer noises and fancy vocal processing.

For Entertainment Purposes Only: Uptempo rock/electronic thing with weird voice FX and rockin' guitar riffs.

This is Gonna Be A Blast: My guitar students were accusing me of making too much "electronic" music, so I bashed out some heavy rock guitar, found some cool political lyrics and cooked this one up.

Chicken Pox: I was listening to a bunch of Oingo Boingo the week this one was hashed out. Chicken Pox as a fashion statement...why not?

I Wanna Be a Star: Contrary to a few accusations, this song ain't really biographical. But if I ever get a gig opening for Duran Duran this will be the tune I'll showcase. Bonus points to anyone who can name the movie quotes in the bridge and ending.

Dashboard Jesus: A rockin' rant about political talk radio. I had this David Bowie/Journey thing going on.

Turning 33: This tune reminds me a bit of Todd Rundgren.

The Instrumentals:

Counterpulse 2007: A sample from a longer mostly orchestral piece with a few dance/electronic ingredients. Created for choreographer Raissa Simpson and Push Dance Company.

Dance 2006: Indian-techno-hard rock-madness, part of a longer piece created for choreographer Raissa Simpson and Push Dance Company.

A Man Should Help Himself: This is an arrangement of James Wong's main theme from the Once Upon a Time in China movies (Jet Li RULES!) This sample was recorded it in one take with all parts performed live on my Ztar. No overdubbing, mixing or sequencing, exactly how I used to play it in the clubs!

Drake's Goodbye: Wrote this one for the family golden retriever after he passed a few years back. I get the occasional email from animal lovers telling me how much they liked it, which is very cool. Then I came across a random website about wildlife protection that linked to the tune. Interesting how it travels.

Meaning Distorted: I put this one together for choreographer Raisa Punkki and she set it to dance. I recommend this one with headphones to get the best stereo effect. The lush textures swooped through the theater when we performed it live.

Reflections of Truth: Filmmaker Christopher Sorrenti wanted a composer for the Cinemasports run at the Mill Valley Film Festival, an event where teams start and complete a film in ten hours based on an announced set of "ingredients". The completed film is on his Myspace site.

Un Chien Andalou: My first day in UC Santa Barbara's Film Studies program had me subjected to this Luis Bunuel/Salvador Dali surrealist film. I'm still in therapy because of it, so my shrink suggested I come to terms with it by replacing the original classical & tango pieces with my own rock/electronic/orchestral madness!

Beau Brummel: Flexing the orchestral muscles with this clip from Beau Brummel, a silent film from 1924.

The Jingles...

Written for my pal Matt Jung of 88HVAC, the finest heating & A/C service this side of the rockies (he set up me up with the BEST A/C), I tried to brainstorm a few jingles for him:

Boppity Bop: The perfect jingle to sell air conditioning systems!

Cheesy Lexus Ad: Just what it says.

Shake Your Butt: Sounds like music to sell affordable sofas & chairs.

I'm Cool, Dude Techno/wannabe Steve Vai (hey, I used an Ibanez Jem for the guitar riff!) thing. Special guest star...my cat Soozie on vocals!
